New Mexico Department of Tourism | Española Valley Fiber Arts Center

At the non-profit Española Valley Fiber Arts Center classic wool fabrics, made with traditional materials, serve the mission of contributing to the Northern New Mexico rural economy by working with local social service organizations to train and employ weavers, many of whom come from nearby traditional weaving families. Befitting the heart of the region’s rich weaving history, the EVFAC team has undertaken initiatives to grow the demand for local wool, to improve weavers’ skills and to increase and diversify textile weaving.
